Lily is passionate about the law; she began her law degree following an interest sparked whilst working for ACC in the Reviews Team over a decade ago. Following admission to the Bar, Lily worked for a law firm exclusively representing ACC Claimants across all areas both at Review Tribunal and Court levels. Lily also now represents clients for mental health law matters (those who are subject to compulsory treatment orders), and clients seeking employment law representation.
The main proportion of Lily’s practice is ACC law; as such, she devotes some of her practise capacity to mental health law and a growing employment law practice. Lily has recently qualified in Master of Laws, with a focus on ACC law and the interplay of Te Ao Māori and Tikanga. It is this drive for equitable outcomes for injured people that keeps her helping claimants access their entitlements. The other areas of practise, mental health and employment law, share many levels of interplay with ACC law. Lily values direct and honest communication with her clients and agencies she deals with. She finds that this way of communicating brings about earlier resolution with a better foundation for ongoing support for her clients.
